BELLINGHAM — Whatcom Community College has launched its first-ever Orca Athletics Hall of Fame to honor the athletic achievements of college alumni. The community is invited to nominate worthy individuals or teams for consideration at www.whatcom.edu/HallofFame.

“We are incredibly excited to honor the many accomplishments of our fantastic Orca alumni,” said Danny Day, director of athletics and recreation. “We’ve had so many outstanding individuals and teams from over the years, and people who have truly made a lasting impact at WCC.”

Nominations for the first-ever Orca Athletics Hall of Fame will be accepted until Nov. 15. All nominations will be reviewed by a selection committee in alignment with Northwest Athletic Conference guidelines. Individuals and teams become eligible for induction five years after finishing their Orca Athletics career at WCC. Additional eligibility criteria can be found at www.whatcom.edu/HallofFame. Questions can be directed to Danny Day at dday@whatcom.edu.

WCC’s athletic programs include men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball.

In order to prioritize the health and safety of everyone, all 2020 fall sports were postponed to winter 2021. More information will be announced as it is made available.
