WHATCOM -- Dozens of local golfers qualified this week for their respective state tournaments taking place on May 21-22.
The 1A boys state tourney is set for May 21-22 at the Olympia Country Club. Here are the golfers competing:
Lynden Christian's John Den Hartog, Ty Hagen and David Kenner; Nooksack Valley's Carson Linville and Austin O'Bryan; Mount Baker's Ayden Rodriguez; and Meridian's Blake Van Den Top and Jordan Naidu.
The 1A girls tourney is May 21-22 at Tumwater Valley Golf Course.
Competitors include Lynden Christian’s Grace Meyer, Kiley Roetcisoender, Sami Feenstra; Nooksack Valley’s Molly Tiemersma and Jenna Tiemersma; and Mount Baker’s Clara Bergman.
The 2A boys state golf tournament is May 21-22 at Liberty Lake Golf Course.
Lynden’s Jordan Medcalf, along with Sehome's Alex Hochsprung, Ian Hakeman and Elliot Tanovan are all competing.
The 2A girls state golf is May 21-22 at MeadowWood Golf Course.
Bellingham’s Jada French was district champion and advances, along with runner-up Sophia Schmidt, Natalie Frank, Kylie Kruhlak and Milan Haley.
Sehome's Lucy Hodson and Joyce Kim both qualified for state, as well.
The 3A boys golf tourney is May 21-22 at Indian Summer Golf and Country Club.
Squalicum's entire team advanced: Colby DeWilde, Cameron Hulbert, Dawson Frere, Ethan Buhler, Caleb Sims and Aiden Weston.
Ferndale’s Sequoya Julius, Mikey Erickson, Sam Cox, Haiden Rasmussen and Liam Stewardson all qualified.
The 3A girls state golf tourney is May 21-22 at Hawk’s Prairie Golf Course. Ferndale’s Adele Ericksen punched her ticket to state. Squalicum's Jadyn Hawkinson is an alternate.
