Boys tennis is over for now; state starts next spring

WHATCOM — Cross country, boys tennis and girls swim/dive teams are all gearing up for their postseason competition.

Here is a playoff picture for all three sports:


Boys cross country

The district championships for Class 3A, 2A and 1A all take place throughout Saturday, Nov. 2, at South Whidbey High School. The top 21-28 individual runners — depending on classification — advance to the state championships Nov. 9 at Sun Willows Golf Course in Pasco. The top three or four teams at districts also advance to state.

Girls cross country

Similarly, the girls district championships for all classifications in District 1 take place Saturday at South Whidbey. The top 28 or 35 individually placing runners qualify for state at Sun Willows Golf Course and the top four or five teams move on to state.


Girls swim and dive

The District 1/2 championships begin at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8, and continue to the next day at Fidalgo Pool in Anacortes.
