WHATCOM — George Boggs, executive director of the Whatcom Conservation District for 23-plus years, announces he will retire at the end of June 2021.
Boggs wrote this in a general Dec. 29 email: “Of all my experiences, what I value the most are our times together. It has been an honor to work with you on matters of consequence. While some of us may not have agreed on matters, when there was disagreement it was with civility and respect. At the end of the day, we have made our communities, indeed the world, a better place. Thank you for your contributions. More importantly, thank you for your fellowship.”
Announcement of a new executive director should come soon in the new year, he said.
