Live workshop, state webinar are upcoming
OLYMPIA — The state Department of Revenue is offering a workshop in Bellingham and then a statewide webinar to address tax issues for business owners.
Business owners in Washington are responsible for knowing which taxes to report. To help them, Revenue will host a free workshop for new and small business owners Tuesday, April 9. It will be from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Revenue building at 1904 Humboldt St.

Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection and record-keeping requirements. Attendees receive a workbook and helpful reference guide to Revenue’s rules and regulations. Also, attendees may earn one continuing professional education credit. Revenue offers several ways for businesses to learn about taxes. Visit the education page to view a complete schedule and to register for other workshops. Business owners can also watch a short streaming video version of the workshop online.
Also, to help reach more businesses statewide and make it easier to participate, Revenue will host a free live webinar for new and small business owners on Wednesday, April 10. It will be from 10 to 11 a.m.

The deadline to register is Tuesday, April 9.
The content for participants will be the same as in a live workshop. During the webinar, the facilitator will answer specific questions related to your business. Continuing education credit is also available.
