WHATCOM — County Republicans will hold their caucuses at many locations at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 29. Arrival is suggested by 9:30 a.m. for check-in.

  It is possible to go to the Whatcom Republicans website at whatcomgop.net to find a list of the local meeting places by voting precinct.

  One items of business is to elect delegates to the county, state and national party conventions, in order to select a candidate for the 2020 presidential election.

  However, the major parties have agreed to use the results of the statewide presidential nominating primary on March 17, says Secretary of State Kim Wyman.

  Also, there will be discussion of issues pertinent to the Republican platforms at the county, state and national levels.

  To participate, any registered voter of the precinct in which the caucus is held needs to be willing to state by signing a registration form that they consider themselves to be Republican and have not participated and will not participate in the 2020 caucus or convention system of any other party.
