WHATCOM — The League of Women Voters of Bellingham/Whatcom County gathered candidates who are in competitive races in the Aug. 4 primary election for virtual forums.

To highlight these choices on the primary election ballot, the League’s forums are now available as video-on-demand at the City of Bellingham YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/cityofbhamwa and the League of Women Voters website https://www.lwvbellinghamwhatcom.org/.

Each forum will also be broadcast starting at 5 p.m. Friday, July 17, on the City of Bellingham’s cable access channel, Comcast 10 and CenturyLink 40, and local radio stations KMRE and KAVZ throughout the weeks up to primary election day.

Local races featured are those where one or more candidates will be eliminated by the primary results. These include U.S. House of Representatives seats for districts 1 and 2 and Whatcom Superior Court Judge positions 2 and 4. Voters may refer to their ballots, mailed out July 15, to see which races they vote on.

The League of Women Voters Skagit County is co-host for both Congressional races, which will also be broadcast on Mount Vernon TV10 and TV26.

The Lynden Tribune and the Northern Light newspapers were media sponsors. The forum was recorded by Robert Clark, with The Center for New Media and BTV Bellingham providing broadcast support.

For more information about this forum, see the League of Women Voters website, lwvbellinghamwhatcom.org, or call 360-734-2366.
