LYNDEN ­— The 2021 International Plowing Match featuring teams of draft horses in action is set for Saturday, May 15, at the northwest side of Berthusen Park. Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  This will be the 80th year of the plowing match, which was first held on March 14, 1942, in a field of Dick Rutgers on Depot Road north of Lynden. 

  Come watch history reenacted, the way your grandfather and generations before tilled the soil.

  Enter the grounds off West Badger Road. Admission and parking are free. Handicapped-accessible restrooms will be available.

  The Northwest Washington Fair presents this event, with co-sponsors LTI Inc. and Northwest Propane.
