LYNDEN ­— The Loyal Order of the Camels Club, celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, is hosting its 78th annual youth fishing derby this Saturday, June 8, at Fishtrap Creek in the Lynden City Park.

The derby is free and open to boys and girls ages 5 to 13, with registration from 8 to 9 a.m.

Fishing times are: 9:15 to 9:45 a.m. for ages 5 to 7; 10 to 10:30 a.m. for ages 8 to 10; and 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. for ages 11 through 13.

Children under the age of 5 are welcome to fish after the regular derby times. Anyone over the age of 13, by state law,  is not allowed to fish this section of the creek.

The Camels Club is accepting cash or prize donations for this event. Donations can be mailed to: Camels Club, 216 Main St., Lynden, WA 98264.
