LYNDEN — For the past 10 years, Kurt Kvamme has been in banking, the past year at the Peoples Bank financial center in Lynden.

As a mortgage loan representative, Kvamme provides financing for new home purchases, construction loans, and bare lot loans, as well as refinance existing mortgages.

“Buying or refinancing a home can be tricky, and I enjoy explaining the process and making it as effortless for my customers as possible,” Kvamme said.

Born and raised in Whatcom County, Kvamme graduated from Lynden Christian High School and Western Washington University.

“I’m fortunate to serve the community where I grew up and is my home today,” he said.

A Lynden resident, Kvamme didn’t grow up with banking in his blood. He grew up wanting to be a golfer. He can thank his father for his love of the links.

“I have been golfing since I was 5 years old and always dreamed of going pro,” Kvamme said. “While that didn’t happen, golf is still one of my favorite hobbies.”

As the story goes, Kvamme and his family lived at Sudden Valley Golf Course.

“My dad took me on the course and introduced me to the game by putting around on the greens,” Kvamme said. “To this day, one of my favorite things to do is golf with my dad.”
