LYNDEN — An up-close look at exotic wildlife, including a spider monkey, emu and birds of prey, will be featured during a Drive Thru Zoo in September at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds & Event Center.
Guests can slowly drive through the Wildlife of the World exhibit while listening to a narrated guide through the vehicle’s radio. The estimated drive-through time is 30-45 minutes.
Other featured animals include a sloth, wallaby and parrots. Live demonstrations will also occur at various times.
Wildlife of the World will be presented from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the weekends of Sept. 11-13 and 18-20. Tickets will be sold in two-hour blocks for $10 per vehicle (limit one person per seatbelt), available starting Wednesday, Aug. 26, at www.nwwafair.com. Limited standby admission will be available each day for $15 per vehicle.
“Wildlife of the World is fun, educational and affordable for the entire family,” said fair CEO Chris Pickering. “It’s also the rare event that can be safely offered during the COVID-19 pandemic because everyone stays in their vehicles.”
Co-presenting sponsors are Haggen Food & Pharmacy, CHS Northwest and KAFE 104.1FM.
