NEWBERG, Oregon — Local students were among those earning Dean’s List recognition (GPA at least 3.5) at George Fox University for the spring 2019 semester. 

The student honorees are: Bellingham — Ashley Lingbloom, sophomore in social work; Blaine — Sam Kussat, senior in English and history; Ferndale — Kyler Brudwick, senior in marketing, and Kristina Peterson, senior in biology; Lynden — Paige Ellens, junior in exercise science, Travis Roderick, sophomore in computer science, and  Ashlee Van Den Top, sophomore in exercise science.



MOSCOW, Idaho — The University of Idaho 2019 spring Dean’s List (at least 3.5 GPA) includes three from Whatcom County: Bellingham — Fiona Dawson and Kaitlyn J. Harvey; Lynden — Elle M. Moore.



ORANGE CITY, Iowa — Three Whatcom County students earned a spot on the academic Dean’s List (3.5 GPA or above) at Northwestern College for the spring 2019 semester.  

Colin Kaemingk is a sophomore history and secondary education major and son of Kevin and Kelly Kaemingk of Lynden. Brittany Kuiper is a junior elementary education major and daughter of Daniel and Debra Kuiper of Custer. Landon Van Berkum is a sophomore computer science and history major and a son of Harold and Keven Van Berkum of Everson; he had a GPA of 3.75 or higher.


SIOUX CENTER, Iowa ­— Holly Hiemstra of Lynden was among 22 Bachelor of Science students at Dordt University who also received their nursing pins at a ceremony on May 9.



LA GRANDE, Oregon — Hannah Rothwell of Lynden was named to the Eastern Oregon University dean’s list (3.5 GPA or higher) for the 2019 winter term. 



BANGOR, Maine — Bellingham resident Jocelyn S. Buys was named to Husson University’s Dean’s List (GPA 3.6-3.79) for spring 2019 semester.

Buys, a Lynden Christian High School graduate, is a junior in business administration.



BOZEMAN Montana — In all, 18 from Whatcom County were on the Montana State University undergraduate honor rolls for spring semester 2019.

Six out of 13 from Bellingham were on the President’s List that signifies a perfect 4.0 GPA.

On the Dean’s List (3.5 GPA or better) were: Ryan Cornwall of Blaine, Parker Morris of Custer, Levi Tenkley of Everson, Libby Kroontje of Lynden and Casey Bauman of Sumas.



CEDARVILLE, Ohio — Kelsey Matthews, a language arts education-integrated major from Lynden, was named to the spring quarter Dean’s Honor List (3.75 minimum GPA) at Cedarville University.
