BELLINGHAM — Former 42nd District state Rep. Vincent Buys has taken on a new job of governmental affairs manager for Comcast.
The telecommunications company has expanded its Washington state External Affairs team to better serve cities, businesses, nonprofits and households, says Nick McDonald, head of the effort.
Buys, who served in Olympia eight years until losing to Sharon Shewmake in the 2018 election, will focus on ensuring Comcast successfully supports communities in Whatcom, Skagit, Island and northern Snohomish counties, McDonald said.
Buys, of Lynden, brings his experience in government and creating relationships in the northwest Washington region. He will stay aware of trends impacting communities and the services and technologies Comcast can offer them.
