WHATCOM — Brad Barron, representing the fourth generation of family leadership at Barron Heating AC Electrical & Plumbing, has been appointed chief operating officer of the Ferndale-based company.

Son of owner/CEO John Barron, Brad joined Barron Heating in 2017, serving as business development manager and then director of operations. He led the development of Barron’s electrical and plumbing divisions. He also spearheaded the launch of Barron Technician School, which provides professional in-house training for their service experts.

Now as COO of the 150-employee company, Brad Barron leads an eight-person executive team. He is a graduate of the University of Washington with a civil engineering degree and he spent seven years developing his professional skillset with several companies, with the last overseeing a four-state territory.

When the engineering career required a move to the Midwest and ample time on the road, Barron decided to stay in the Northwest with his family.
