WHATCOM — Thanks to amazing efforts by so many during the coronavirus pandemic, Barron Heating & Air Conditioning is providing free HVAC maintenance service through the end of May to medical professionals and first responders in its northwest Washington service territory.

As a precision tune-up, Barron will closely observe safety-first, contact-free protocols while examining and changing air filters to ensure the best possible indoor air quality.

The maintenance service will contribute to better health for the local heroes and their families, owner John Barron said. Under normal conditions, he noted, indoor air is up to six times more polluted than outdoor air — even as people are spending many more hours a week at home, per person, placing more load on equipment and filtration systems.
