LYNDEN — The Lynden School District has announced a change in the days when meal packs will be distributed.

From Rex Fraser, serving as logistics coordinator during the schools’ shutdown:

“The Lynden School District continues to expand its meal distribution plan to meet the needs of our community. Putting meals into the hands of as many children as possible while maintaining the safety of students, families and staff is the primary goal. An incredible staff, spread across four distribution sites, continues to achieve this goal.

“Starting this Friday, March 27, distribution days will change to Tuesday and Friday only. Meals will be given in three-meal packs which include three lunches and three breakfasts per child. Meals will still be picked up at Fisher Elementary, Isom Elementary, Bernice Vossbeck Elementary, and Lynden Middle schools between 11 and 12:30 on the new distribution days.

“Simplifying to a Tuesday/Friday delivery model will limit the transportation burden on families and ensure a sustainable model for serving the community moving forward.”
