CITY OF LYNDEN LEGAL NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A VARIANCE AND PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 21, 2020, the City of Lynden received an application from Greg and Liana Faber, regarding the property described below:

LOT 15, MOUNTAIN TERRACE, AN ADDITION TO THE CITY OF LYNDEN, WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF, RECORDED IN VOLUME 9 OF PLATS, PAGE 37, RECORDS OF WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON.

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 135 Terrace Drive, Lynden.

For a variance to Section 19.22.030 (C)(4) of the Lynden Municipal Code to allow a 3.6:12 roof pitch from the required 4:12 pitch.  The application was determined to be complete on September 9, 2020, and the notice of completeness was post marked on that date.

A virtual public hearing with the Lynden Design Review Board has been tentatively scheduled for October 6, 2020.  Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness.  Any persons wishing to comment on the application or the proposal may do so by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden, by October 5, 2020, or by attending the virtual public hearing to be held at 5:00 P.M. on October 6, 2020.

PUBLIC NOTICE

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

 

Notice is hereby given that the Lynden School District No. 504, Whatcom County, Washington (the “District”) will hold a public hearing during a regular meeting of the Board of Directors of the District scheduled for October 8, 2020 starting at 7 p.m., Pacific Time, or as soon thereafter as possible, for the purpose of hearing comments from the public on the proposed issuance by the District of its Limited General Obligation Bond, 2020B (the “Bond”). In accordance with the Governor’s Proclamation 20-28 Open Public Meetings issued on March 24, 2020, as extended, the public hearing and regular meeting of the Board will be held by via phone conference. The dial-in number and Meeting ID will be posted on the District’s website within the agenda for such meeting. The Bond is proposed to be issued in the aggregate principal amount of not to exceed $1,500,000 and will be payable over a maximum term of five (5) years with the final payment to occur no later than December 1, 2024. The Bond proceeds will be used to pay costs of technology, equipment and other necessary capital projects for facility and safety improvements as authorized by the District’s Capital Projects Levy approved by the voters in February 2020, and pay costs of issuance of the Bond, all pursuant to RCW 28A.530.080(1). The Bond will be payable solely from money from the District’s Capital Projects Fund, General Fund and/or from other money legally available therefore, within the constitutional and statutory limitations provided by law without a vote of the electors of the District. Any person may appear by dialing-in to such meeting and be heard on the issue of the Bond, as stated above. Comments will be heard from all interested parties dialing-in to the hearing and/or submitting comments using the contact information below.
