NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 23, 2019, the City of Lynden received an application from Mike Kooy, Guide Plaza LLC, regarding the property described below:

LOT 2 OF THE MARKETPLACE AT LYNDEN LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT, AS PER THE MAP THEREOF RECORDED UNDER AUDITOR’S FILE NO. 2010603096, RECORDS OF WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON. SITUATE IN WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON.

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 144 Bay Lyn Drive, Lynden

requesting the approval to subdivide approximately 2.59 acres into 3 parcels within the CSR (Regional Commercial Services) zone at the above noted location. The application was determined to be complete on November 5, 2019, and the notice of completeness was postmarked on that date.

Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mayor of the City of Lynden has filed the 2020 Preliminary Budget with the Finance Director.A public hearing on the Preliminary Budget was held at 7:00PM on Monday, November 4, 2019.

A public hearing on the Property Tax Levy was held at 7:00PM on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Lynden City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street.

A public hearing on the Final Budget will be held at 7:00PM at the Lynden City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street, on Monday, December 2, 2019.All interested parties wishing to comment may appear at said time and place.Written comments will be accepted through 4:00 PM Monday, December 2, 2019.

Copies of the 2020 Preliminary Budget are available for public view online at www.lyndenwa.org, in the Mayor’s Office, the Finance Director’s Office (between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday) and the Lynden Public Library.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

PROJECT NO. 2020-03 ANNUAL SUPPLY OF ASPHALT, QUARRY ROCK, GRAVEL, SAND & TOPSOIL 

 

NOTICE is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the City of Lynden Public Works Department at 300 4th Street, Lynden, Washington, 98264, (360) 354-3446, until 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 4th, 2019.

Materials to be supplied on demand within 24 hours (or within two hours in case of emergency) and delivered to within five miles of the Lynden service area if necessary. A weight slip must be submitted at time of delivery.

The bid is to establish a list of suppliers and firm prices for the 2020 supply of asphalt, quarry rock, gravel, soil and fractured sand for the City. Bidders must be on the City of Lynden’s Small Works Roster at time of bid due date. Award will be made to the lowest and or most responsible bidder. The City will select the supplier submitting the lowest responsible bid for the specific material needed. However, under special circumstances, the City may select the supplier not submitting the lowest bid, but in consideration of the special circumstances meet the City’s requirements for the specified material needed. Special circumstances that may be considered include differences in ability to deliver, delivery time, availability of material, special loading or unloading conditions, total cost (including transport), performance of the delivered material, location of the source and proximity to the delivery point. Fuel surcharge must be included in bid price.

The City of Lynden reserves the right to accept a proposal of the bidder submitting the lowest responsible bid, to reject any or all bids, or to re-solicit the call for bids if the best interest of the City of Lynden is served thereby.

LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING ORDINANCE 1594 IMPACT FEE DEFERRAL PROGRAM

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lynden City Council will hold a public hearing and will be taking public input on the proposed Impact Fee Deferral Program.

State Legislature has authorized changes to RCW 82.02 related to the collection of impact fees for single family home development. This was intended to assist in the economic recovery of the building industry. As a result, the City is required to create a program by which home builders may defer the payment of impact fees. 

A public hearing with the Lynden City Council has been scheduled for December 2, 2019. Any persons wishing to comment on the proposed updates may do so by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden, 98264 by December 2, 2019, or by attending the public hearing to be held that evening at 7:00 P.M., at the City Hall Annex building located at 205 4th Street. Notice of Application and Public Hearing 

 

The City of Sumas hereby gives notice of a pending application for a zoning conditional use permit.  The applicants are Shane and Mikaela Bradley, who propose to construct two single-family residences, each with an attached, accessory dwelling unit, on two separate but adjacent properties located in the Residential-Medium Density zoning district.  The proposed properties are located at 575 and 583 Arthur’s Way within the SE ¼ of the NW ¼ and the SW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 34, Township 41 North, Range 04 East of W.M. within Sumas WA.  The public comment period for this application is from November 20 through December 5, 2019.  Written comments may be submitted during that period to Sumas City Hall at the address shown below.
