DESIGN REVIEW

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 20, 2021, the Design Review Board of the City of Lynden, received an application from JWR Design, Agent for MC Brothers, regarding the property described below:

LOT 1 OF THE NORTH STRAWBERRY GENERAL AND SPECIFIC BINDING SITE PLAN AS PER THE MAP THEREOF RECORDED UNDER A.F. NO. 2130200597 SITUATE IN WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON.

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS:  2203 Mercedes Drive, Lynden

For the proposed construction of two commercial storage buildings totaling 6,720 square feet. The property is located within the CSL zone.

A virtual public meeting with the Lynden Design Review Board has been scheduled for December 7, 2021.  Any person wishing to comment on the application or the proposal, may do so by submitting their written comments to Korene Samec, Planner, 300 4th Street, Lynden 98264, by December 7, 2021, or by attending the virtual public meeting to be held at 5:00 p.m. that same evening.

Please Note:  Due to concerns related to the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, those interested in participating in the meeting remotely should contact the Planning Department at (360) 354-5532 before noon on December 7th.  Written comments and questions are welcome and will be poised to the Board and Applicant during the meeting.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Mayor of the City of Lynden has filed the 2022 Preliminary Budget with the Finance Director.  A public hearing on the Preliminary Budget was held at 7:00PM on Monday, November 01, 2021.  

A public hearing on the Property Tax Levy was held at 7:00PM on Monday, November 15, 2021.  A public hearing on the Final Budget will be held at 7:00PM during the Monday, December 6, 2021 City Council meeting.  All interested parties wishing to speak to the Council, please contact the City Clerk

at 360-255-7085 before 12:00 PM on Thursday prior to the council meeting to be added to the agenda.  Written comments will be accepted through 4:00 PM, Monday, December 6, 2021.

Copies of the 2022 Preliminary Budget will be available for public view online at www.lyndenwa.org, in the Mayor’s Office and the Finance Director’s Office (between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday).

The following is a summary of Ordinance #726 adopted by the Nooksack City Council on November 15, 2021 and published under authority of RCW35A.12.160.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOOKSACK, WASHINGTON, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO REZONE THE PROPERTY REFERRED TO AS THE “BIG ROCK REZONE” FROM A COMBINATION OF RESIDENTIAL AGRICULTURAL URBAN RESERVE TO RESIDENTAL-8600.

A copy of the ordinances will be made available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk at City Hall during business hours. The full text of Ordinance #726 will be mailed without charge to any person who requests same.

PUBLIC NOTICE

DeKoster Excavating, Bryan Korthuis, 9602 Double Ditch Rd Lynden, WA 98264, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit.

The proposed project, Kamm Creek PRD, is located at the west side of Northwood Rd 670 ft south of Kamm Rd in Lynden in Whatcom County.

This project involves 15 acres of soil disturbance for Residential construction activities.

The receiving waterbody is Kamm Creek.

Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this Application, or interested in Ecology’s action on this Application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II anti-degradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.
