Bidders who hand deliver their bid proposals should expect to call the City of Lynden Public Works Department at the number listed above upon arrival at City Hall. City Staff will accept your proposal at the door. Bidders shall be responsible for allowing sufficient time to submit their proposal.Bid proposals will be opened and the results will be announced near the flagpole shortly after opening.

This contract provides for the structural overlay of approximately 2,000 linear feet of East Grover Street from the BNSF railroad tracks to Bradley Road.Work to be performed under this contract shall include grinding and preleveling portions of the existing roadway, and the construction of pedestrian ramps, sidewalks, driveways, striping, and restoration.All work shall be in accordance with the Contract Plans, Special Provisions, the Standard Specifications, and Standard Plans.All materials, equipment, labor, and other miscellaneous items required to complete the work shall be furnished by the contractor.

All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal.Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond and payment bond both in an amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price within the time stated in the specifications, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Lynden.All bidders and subcontractors shall have a contractor’s license to work in the State of Washington and a City of Lynden Business License.

LEGAL NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR SHORELINE SUBSTANTIAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT, AND PUBLIC HEARING

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 19, 2020, the City of Lynden received a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit from Mark Sandal, Programs Manager for the City of Lynden, regarding the property described below:

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 17th Street and Fishtrap Creek  

Project: SSD #20-01, 17th Street Extension 

Project Description: The City of Lynden is proposing to construct an extension of 17th St. as well as other various improvements along the 17th St. corridor. The design will include roadway, sanitary sewer, water main and drainage design. The proposal includes the construction of an extension of 17th St. from its existing northerly terminus, north approximately 400 feet to Main St. and replacement of the existing 17th St. water main from Liberty St. to Main St. with a new 12” water main. The water main will be located under replaced sidewalk and a replaced 6-foot wide section of asphalt pavement. Existing 17th St. will be also be ground and overlaid with 2 inches of asphalt from the 17th St. bridge over Pepin Creek north to the road extension. No structures or buildings will be affected by the proposed project.

A public hearing with the Lynden Planning Commission has been tentatively scheduled for June 11, 2020.  Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness.  Any persons wishing to comment on the application or the proposal may do by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden 98264, by June 10, 2020, or by attending the virtual public hearing to be held at 7:30 P.M. June 11, 2020.

which is subject to that certain Deed of Trust dated 11/1/2007, recorded 11/7/2007, as Instrument No. 2071100818, records of Whatcom County, Washington, from GLEN BAKER AND KAREN M BAKER, HUSBAND AND WIFE, as Grantor(s), to CHICAGO TITLE INSURANCE COMPANY, as Trustee, to secure an obligation in favor of Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems, Inc. (“MERS”), as designated nominee for People’s Bank – Cordata, beneficiary of the security instrument, its successors and assigns, as Beneficiary, the beneficial interest in which was assigned to U.S. BANK TRUST NATIONAL ASSOCIATION, AS TRUSTEE OF THE IGLOO SERIES III TRUST, under an Assignment recorded under Auditor’s File No. 2017-100854.

II. No action commenced by the Beneficiary of the Deed of Trust is now pending to seek satisfaction of the obligation in any Court by reason of the Borrower’s or Grantor’s default on the obligation secured by the Deed of Trust.

V. The above-described real property will be sold to satisfy the expense of sale and the obligation secured by the Deed of Trust as provided by statute. The sale will be made without warranty, express or implied, regarding title, possession, or encumbrances on 6/26/2020. The default(s) referred to in Paragraph III must be cured by 6/15/2020, (11 days before the sale date) to cause a discontinuance of the sale. The sale will be discontinued and terminated if at any time before 6/15/2020 (11 days before the sale) the default as set forth in Paragraph III is cured and the Trustee’s fees and costs are paid.
