Notice is hereby given that on March 18, 2019, the Nooksack City Council approved a long subdivision / preliminary plat requested by Gary Pike to subdivide an approximately 2.5-acre property located at 411 E. 2nd Street within the City of Nooksack to create 6 residential lots. Approval was granted with conditions. 

There is no administrative appeal of this decision. Pursuant to RCW 36.70C, any petition challenging this decision must be filed with the superior court within twenty-one days of the date of the decision by the Nooksack City Council.

This notice is published pursuant to Section 16.01.130(C) of the Nooksack Municipal Code.

Notice of Application, Public Hearing and Probable SEPA Determination of Nonsignificance 

 

The City of Everson hereby gives notice that on February 25, 2019 an application for approval of the Dykstra Family Long Plat long subdivision / preliminary plat was received from Northwest Surveying and GPS, Inc. on behalf of Henry and Jennifer Dykstra. The application included a consolidated application for a shoreline substantial development permit. The applicant seeks to subdivide an approximately 9.57-acre property to create 15 residential lots plus a 3.74-acre Open Space Tract adjacent to the Nooksack River. The project includes construction of roads, sidewalks and utilities as well as buffer enhancement adjacent to the river and on-site mitigation for filling of a small on-site wetland. The subject property is located at 210 Old Everson Road in the NE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 36, Township 40N, Range 3E of W.M. and in the NW ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 31, Township 40N, Range 4E of W.M., Whatcom County, WA within the City of Everson. The property is identified under the following County Assessor’s parcel numbers: 400336 510375, 400336 520420 and 400431 025467. 

The public comment period for this application is from March 27 through April 26, 2019. Written comments may be submitted during that comment period to Everson City Hall at the address shown below. 

The City expects to issue a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) for the proposal. The application is being handled pursuant to the optional DNS process authorized in section 197-11-355 WAC, so comments about the environmental impacts of the proposal should be submitted within the above described comment period. This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal. The proposal may include mitigation measures under applicable codes, and the project review process may incorporate or require mitigation measures regardless of whether an EIS is prepared. A copy of the subsequent threshold determination for the proposal may be obtained upon request.

The Everson City Council will hold a public hearing regarding this proposal beginning at 7:00 p.m. on May 14, 2019 at Everson City Hall. Any party may submit written or oral testimony at the hearing.

ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR SURPLUS EQUIPMENT

OLD WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATING EQUIPMENT AND OTHER ITEMS

NOTICE is hereby given that bids will be received by the City of Lynden Public Works Department at 505 Judson Street Alley, Lynden, Washington, 98264 (Old Water Treatment Plant), (360) 354-3446, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm on Saturday, 

March 30th, 2019.

Bid forms will be located on each piece of equipment in list format. Bids will be read aloud after 12:00 pm when the high bidder will be announced. Upon award, equipment should be paid for and picked up by no later than 2:00 pm that day; however, in the case of oversized items, arrangements may be made for pickup by April 15th (10 business days after notice of award). Bidder is responsible for removing/moving equipment; no assistance will be provided. Note: If item is too large to pass through existing doorways other arrangements may be made to pick up equipment during building demolition process.

For payment on Saturday at the site, cash or check will be accepted; no credit cards. For oversized items, with arrangements made, bidders may pay by April 15th, prior to pick-up, at the City Finance Department in City Hall, 300 4th Street, Lynden, Washington. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

A preview of the equipment being offered will be held Friday, March 29th between the hours of 8:00 am and 12:00 pm at the site, and on bid day between 8:00 am and 12:00 pm.

The City of Lynden intends to award to the bidder submitting the highest bid, but reserves the right to reject bids on those items that have a minimum bid amount listed.

LEGAL NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE ADDITION OF A NEW CHAPTER 19.22 TO TITLE 19 OF THE LYNDEN MUNICIPAL CODE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lynden Planning Commission will be holding a public hearing and will be taking public input regarding the proposal to add a new Chapter to Title 19 of the City of Lynden Municipal Code. The proposed new chapter will consolidate and amend the residential design standards throughout the City of Lynden. 

A public hearing with the Lynden Planning Commission has been scheduled for April 11, 2019. Any persons wishing to comment on the proposal may do so by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden, 98264 by April 10, 2019, or by attending the public hearing to be held at 7:30 P.M., April 11, 2019, at the City of Lynden City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street.
