NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 7, 2019, the City of Lynden received an application from Shane Bajema, Cedarbrook Partners, regarding the property described below:

LOT 1 OF THE VAN DYKEN SHORT PLAT, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT MAP THEREOF, RECORDED UNDER A.F. NO. 2000201901, RECORDS OF WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON.  ALL SITUATE IN WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON.

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 131 E Cedar Drive, Lynden

for a Planned Residential Development and Shoreline Substantial Development Permit requesting to develop approximately 3.05 acres into 9 residential lots within the RS-100 zone and within the 200-foot shoreline jurisdiction of Fishtrap Creek. The application was determined to be complete on February 18, 2020, and the notice of completeness was postmarked on February 28, 2020.

A public hearing with the Lynden Planning Commission has been tentatively scheduled for April 9, 2020.  Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness.  Any persons wishing to comment on the application or proposal may do by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden 98264, by March 25, 2020, or by attending the public hearing to be held at 7:30 P.M., April 9, 2020, at the City of Lynden City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street.

Notice of Decision

 

Notice is hereby given that on February 24, 2020, the Sumas City Council approved a zoning conditional use permit and a consolidated shoreline substantial development permit allowing Lakeport Reach LLC to develop a concrete products manufacturing facility on a site located at 3867 Kneuman Road, Sumas, WA. The approvals included conditions of approval established pursuant to the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) and Titles 14, 15 and 20 of the Sumas Municipal Code.

There is no administrative appeal of this decision. 

Pursuant to Chapter 36.70C RCW, any petition challenging this decision regarding the conditional use permit must be filed with the superior court of Whatcom County within twenty-one days of the issuance of the decision.

Any appeal of the decision regarding the shoreline substantial development permit must be filed with the state shoreline hearings board within twenty-one days of the date of filing of the permit with the Washington Department of Ecology pursuant to RCW 90.58, the Shoreline Management Act.

This notice is published pursuant to Section 20.08.130(C) of the Sumas Municipal Code.

The City of Everson, PO Box 315 Everson, WA 98247-0315, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit. 

The proposed project, Reeds Lane and Emerson Road, is located at Reeds Lane and Emerson Road in Everson in Whatcom county. 

This project involves 2.1 acres of soil disturbance for Highway or Road construction activities. 

The receiving waterbodies are the Nooksack River, and Johnson Creek. 

Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this Application, or interested in Ecology’s action on this Application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II anti-degradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.

CITY OF EVERSON

REEDS LANE AND EMERSON ROAD IMPROVEMENTS

 

Sealed bid proposals will be received by the City Clerk at Everson City Hall, 111 W. Main Street, Everson, Washington, 98247, (360) 966-3411, until 3 p.m., on Thursday, March 12, 2020, and will then and there be opened and publicly read.

The improvements consist of reconstructing approximately 1,200 linear feet of existing roadway along Reeds Lane and 500 linear feet Emerson Road. Work will include roadway, sanitary sewer, drainage improvements, watermain installation and various other items of Work. The existing section of Reeds Lane is an aging two lane roadway with limited pedestrian facilities, no existing storm sewer system, and an aging watermain. The project will increase the road width to 26 feet (in most places), provide new curb & gutter, and ADA compliant sidewalks. 

Engineers Estimate: $1,000,000-$1,200,000

All bid proposals shall be accompanied by a bid proposal deposit in cash, certified check, cashier’s check, or surety bond in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of such bid proposal. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond and payment bond both in an amount of 100 percent (100%) of the contract price within 10 days, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to the City of Everson. All bidders and subcontractors shall have a contractor’s license to work in the State of Washington and a City of Everson Business License.

The Bid documents are available digitally, without a fee, on the City of Everson’s website (http://www.ci.everson.wa.us). The City of Everson will manage the plan holders list which will be available upon request. It is the responsibility of the Contractor to be placed on the plan holder’s list in order to formally receive addenda. The City of Everson also reserves the right to postpone the bid award for a period of thirty (30) calendar days after bid opening.
