LEGAL NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, SHORELINE SUBSTANTIAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT AND PUBLIC HEARING

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 7, 2019, the City of Lynden received an application from Shane Bajema, Cedarbrook Partners, regarding the property described below:

LOT 1 OF THE VAN DYKEN SHORT PLAT, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT MAP THEREOF, RECORDED UNDER A.F. NO. 2000201901, RECORDS OF WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON.  ALL SITUATE IN WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON.

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 131 E Cedar Drive, Lynden

for a Planned Residential Development and Shoreline Substantial Development Permit requesting to develop approximately 3.05 acres into 9 residential lots within the RS-100 zone and within the 200-foot shoreline jurisdiction of Fishtrap Creek. The application was determined to be complete on February 18, 2020, and the notice of completeness was postmarked on February 28, 2020.

A public hearing with the Lynden Planning Commission has been tentatively scheduled for April 9, 2020.  Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness.  Any persons wishing to comment on the application or proposal may do by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden 98264, by March 25, 2020, or by attending the public hearing to be held at 7:30 P.M., April 9, 2020, at the City of Lynden City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street.

LEGAL NOTICE OF STATE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT

MITIGATED DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 12, 2020, the City of Lynden received a SEPA Checklist from Mark Sandal, Programs Manager for the City of Lynden, regarding the property described below:

Location: The Hannegan Road right-of-way corridor, extending south of the city limits between Riverview Road and the Nooksack River, located in Section 20, Township 40N, Range 3E

Project: Industrial Condensate Pipeline (Riverview Road to Nooksack River)

The project will construct approximately 2,300 feet of industrial condensate pipeline along Hannegan Road between Riverview Road and the Nooksack River. The industrial condensate pipeline will consist of a combination of 1,300 feet of cured-in-place pipe and 1,000 feet of PVC pipe before discharging the condensate of milk whey (distilled water) through a new outfall to the Nooksack River through 2 10-inch pipes with duckbill check valves. Additionally, the project will install a 16-inch raw water pipe on the Hannegan bridge from the existing intake south of the bridge to the existing pipe on the north side of the bridge. 

After reviewing the environmental checklist and other information on file with the agency, the City of Lynden has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment should certain conditions be met. Copies of the MDNS are available from the City of Lynden, 300 4th St., WA. The public is invited to comment on this MDNS by submitting written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, no later than March 25, 2020, at 300 4th Street, Lynden, WA 98264.

The City of Nooksack hereby gives notice that the Nooksack City Council will hold a public hearing regarding proposed revisions to Chapter 6.08 NMC (Animal Control) at Nooksack City Hall at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. Any party may submit written or oral comments at the hearing. The draft revisions are available for review at Nooksack City Hall during normal business hours. People with special needs who will be attending the hearing are asked to contact City Hall by March 13, 2020 to request special accommodations.
