Notice of Public Hearing 

 

The City of Nooksack hereby gives notice that the Nooksack City Council will hold a public hearing regarding the City’s 6-year Transportation Improvement Program pursuant to RCW 35.77.010 at Nooksack City Hall at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, July 15, 2019. Any party may submit written or oral comments at the hearing. The draft program is available for review at Nooksack City Hall during normal business hours. People with special needs who will be attending the hearing are asked to contact City Hall by July 12, 2019 to request special accommodations.

The following is a summary of Ordinance #711 adopted by the Nooksack City Council on June 17, 2019 and published under authority of RCW35A.12.160.

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NOOKSACK, WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL TO EXTEND A CABLE TV FRANCHISE AGREEMENT WITH COMCAST CABLE COMMUNICATIONS MANAGEMENT, LLC.

A copy of the ordinance will be made available for public inspection in the office of the City Clerk at City Hall during business hours. The full text of Ordinance #711 will be mailed without charge to any person who requests the same.

City of Lynden, Mark Sandal, 300 4th St Lynden, WA 98264-1905, is seeking coverage under the Washington State Department of Ecology’s Construction Stormwater NPDES and State Waste Discharge General Permit. The proposed project, 7th Street Revitalization Project, is located at 7th Street from Judson St to south of Grover St, the alleyway between 6th and 7th Street, and the adjacent parking lot. in Lynden in Whatcom county. This project involves 1.81 acres of soil disturbance for Highway or Road construction activities. The receiving waterbody is Nooksack River. Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this Application, or interested in Ecology’s action on this Application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II anti-degradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320. LEGAL NOTICE OF STATE ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 12, 2019 the City of Lynden received a SEPA Checklist from Dave Timmer, City Planner for the City of Lynden, regarding the non-project action described below:

Description of Proposal: Lynden locally adopted its Shoreline Master Program (SMP) in 2014. This proposed update to the 2014 SMP will include the required Dept of Ecology (DOE) Periodic Review. This Periodic Review is required to be complete on or before June 30, 2020. Furthermore, this update, with DOE approval, will finish the Comprehensive Update of the 2014 locally adopted SMP. 

After reviewing the environmental checklist and other information on file with the agency, the City of Lynden has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment should standard conditions be met. Copies of the DNS are available from the City of Lynden, 300 4th St., WA. The public is invited to comment on this DNS by submitting written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, no later than July 10, 2019, at 300 4th Street, Lynden, WA 98264.

Description of Proposal: The project is to create a more efficient loadout area on the Lynden Door property to store and blend sawdust that is a byproduct of the production process. The building of the loadout area will require the excavation of 950-1,200 yards of onsite material.

A Budget Hearing for the purpose of amending the adopted 2018-19 Lynden School District General Fund and Associated Student Body Fund budgets will be held on Thursday, July 11th, 2018, at 6:30 p.m., at the Main Street Campus (formerly Lynden Middle School) as part of the regular School Board meeting scheduled for that evening. 

The budget has been placed on file in the school district administration office and a copy will be furnished to anyone requesting it. Any person may appear at the hearing to be heard for or against any part of the budget.
