LEGAL NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR SHORELINE SUBSTANTIAL DEVELOPMENT PERMIT, AND PUBLIC HEARING

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on February 19, 2020, the City of Lynden received a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit from Mark Sandal, Programs Manager for the City of Lynden, regarding the property described below:

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 17th Street and Fishtrap Creek  

Project: SSD #20-01, 17th Street Extension 

Project Description: The City of Lynden is proposing to construct an extension of 17th St. as well as other various improvements along the 17th St. corridor. The design will include roadway, sanitary sewer, water main and drainage design. The proposal includes the construction of an extension of 17th St. from its existing northerly terminus, north approximately 400 feet to Main St. and replacement of the existing 17th St. water main from Liberty St. to Main St. with a new 12” water main. The water main will be located under replaced sidewalk and a replaced 6-foot wide section of asphalt pavement. Existing 17th St. will be also be ground and overlaid with 2 inches of asphalt from the 17th St. bridge over Pepin Creek north to the road extension. No structures or buildings will be affected by the proposed project.

A public hearing with the Lynden Planning Commission has been tentatively scheduled for June 11, 2020.  Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness.  Any persons wishing to comment on the application or the proposal may do by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden 98264, by June 10, 2020, or by attending the virtual public hearing to be held at 7:30 P.M. June 11, 2020.

Please Note:  Due to concerns related to the transmission of the COVID-19 virus, those interested in participating in the meeting remotely should contact Heidi Gudde at guddeh@lyndenwa.org or (360) 354-5532 before noon on June 11, 2020.  Comments that can be read aloud in less than 4 minutes will be verbally added to the record.  Written questions will be poised to the Commission and Applicant during the meeting.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE SIX-YEAR (2021-2026) TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City Council has scheduled a public hearing date for the City of Lynden’s Six (6) Year Transportation Improvement Program (2021-2026). The City Council will review public comments at an online meeting to be held at 7:00 PM June 15, 2020. Due to the Governor’s proclamation 20-28 related to COVID-19 restrictions, this meeting will be conducted online and closed to the public, so written comments must be provided prior to the meeting.

At such hearing, the City Council will consider any and all objections made and may correct, revise, change or modify the program, and at conclusion of such hearing, will confirm the update to the Transportation Improvement Program by resolution.

Any persons with questions regarding the Six Year Transportation Improvement Program or those wishing to comment, may do so by submitting their comments to the City Clerk, 300 4th Street, Lynden, via email (cityhall@lyndenwa.org) or by phone to Mark Sandal at 360-354-3446, by 1:00 PM June 15, 2020.

Notice is hereby given that on May 26, 2020, the Everson City Council granted preliminary plat approval with conditions for a residential subdivision proposed by Bailey-Rhodes LLC to subdivide an approximately 4.49-acre property located in the 400 block of Everson-Goshen Road within the City of Everson to create 19 residential lots.  

There is no administrative appeal of this decision. Pursuant to Chapter 36.70C RCW, any petition challenging this decision must be filed with the superior court within twenty-one days of the issuance of the decision.
