NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 1, 2021, the City of Lynden received an application from Northwest Surveying and GPS, Agent for Gary and Kalise Hastings, regarding the property described below:

LOT A, AS DELINATED ON LINDE FAMILY SHORT PLAT, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF, RECORDED UNDER AUDITOR’S FILE NO. 2015-1202460 RECORDS OF WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON.  SITUATE IN WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON.

Requesting the approval to subdivide approximately 2.19 acres into 2 parcels within the RS-100 (Residential Single-Family) zone at the above noted location.  The application was determined to be complete on July 19, 2021, and the notice of completeness was postmarked on that date.

Notice of Application and Public Hearing

The City of Nooksack hereby gives notice of a pending application for a site-specific rezone from Residential and Agricultural Urban Reserve to Residential-8600.  The applicant is Big Rock LLC, which seeks to rezone a group of properties located to the east of E. 4th Street and abutting E. Lincoln Street and E. Grant Street to allow future residential development at urban densities.   The properties are located in the SE ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 29, T40N, R4E, of W.M., Whatcom County, WA. The County Assessor parcel numbers are 400429 465366, 400429 420369, 400429 434402, 400429 434382, and 400429 493497 (part).  The public comment period for this application is from July 28 through August 12, 2021.  Written comments may be submitted during that comment period to Nooksack City Hall at the address shown below.  

The Nooksack City Council will hold a public hearing regarding this proposal at 7:00 p.m. on August 16, 2021 at Nooksack City Hall.  Any party may submit written or oral comments at the hearing.  The complete application is available for review at Nooksack City Hall during normal business hours.

NOTICE OF 2021 SMALL WORKS ROSTER

LYNDEN SCHOOL DISTRICT #504

Lynden School District #504 solicits interested, licensed contractors for inclusion on its Small Works Roster. This invitation is in accordance with RCW 28A.335 and RCW 39.04. This roster will identify those qualified contractors interested in submitting proposals on projects estimated to cost not more than $300,000. Qualified contractors not already registered with the district purchasing services department are required to submit an application for inclusion on the Small Works Roster. All contractors on the current roster will be required to submit a letter of continued interest on business letterhead for Lynden School District’s consideration for inclusion on the 2021 Small Works Roster, an updated application indicating the information that has changed if applicable, and a Category of Interest Form. All forms are available on the District’s website at www.lynden.wednet.edu.

NOTICE OF 2021-22 BUDGET HEARING

LYNDEN SCHOOL DISTRICT #504

A Budget Hearing for the purpose of fixing and adopting the 2021-2022 Lynden School District budget will be held on Thursday, August 12th, 2021, at 7:00 P.M, at 516 Main Street, Lynden, WA as part of the regular School Board meeting scheduled for that evening.  Any person in attendance at the hearing will have the opportunity to be heard for or against any part of the 2021-22 budget.

The 21-22 budget and four-year plan have been placed on file in the school district administration office at 516 Main Street, and a copy will be furnished to anyone requesting it.

The receiving waterbody is Nooksack River. Any persons desiring to present their views to the Washington State Department of Ecology regarding this Application, or interested in Ecology’s action on this Application, may notify Ecology in writing no later than 30 days of the last date of publication of this notice. Ecology reviews public comments and considers whether discharges from this project would cause a measurable change in receiving water quality, and, if so, whether the project is necessary and in the overriding public interest according to Tier II anti-degradation requirements under WAC 173-201A-320.
