Request for Proposal

 

The City of Lynden is accepting bids for the lease of approximately 33 acres of agricultural land located at 8727 Benson Road.

Interested parties may submit bids for all or portions of the acreage available. 

The land is currently being leased for various agricultural growing operations.

The length of term for leasing the property will be for a maximum period of 5 years.

Starting date for the lease will be March 1, 2020.

Bids must be submitted to the City of Lynden-Parks Department, 8779 Bender Road, Lynden, Washington 98264 no later than Feb. 21,2020 at 5:00 P.M.

Notice of Decision

 

Notice is hereby given that on January 21, 2020, the Nooksack City Council approved a long subdivision / preliminary plat requested by Thomas and Irene Abbott to subdivide an approximately 4.6-acre property located in the 400 block of E. Madison Street within the City of Nooksack to create eight residential lots. Approval was granted with conditions. 

There is no administrative appeal of this decision. Pursuant to RCW 36.70C, any petition challenging this decision must be filed with the superior court within twenty-one days of the date of the decision by the Nooksack City Council.

This notice is published pursuant to Section 16.01.130(C) of the Nooksack Municipal Code.

DETERMINATION OF NONSIGNIFICANCE (DNS)

 

Notice is hereby given that on January 28, 2020 the City of Everson, acting as SEPA lead agency under RCW 43.21C, issued a Determination of Nonsignificance for the following project proposal:

Description of Proposal: City of Everson Reed’s Lane and Emerson Road Improvements Project. This project includes reconstruction of an approximately 1,100-foot section of Reed’s Lane from S. Washington Street to Blair Drive and an adjacent 450-foot section of Emerson Road, including sidewalks, utilities and stormwater management facilities. 

Proponent: City of Everson Public Works Department

Location of Proposal: Reed’s Lane and Emerson Road rights-of-way between S. Washington Street and Blair Drive. Project is located in the NW ¼ of the NE ¼ of Section 31, Township 40 North, Range 04 East of W.M. within the City of Everson, Washington.

Determination: The lead agency has determined that this proposal does not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment. An environmental impact statement (EIS) is not required under RCW 43.21C.030 (2) (c). This decision was made after review of a completed environmental checklist and other information on file with the lead agency. This information is available to the public upon request.

Comment Period: This DNS is issued under WAC 197-11-340 (2). The lead agency will not act on this proposal for 14 days from the date of issuance. Comments must be received by February 11, 2020. A change in determination may be made upon the addition of new or conflicting information presented to the SEPA Official within the 14-day review period. Questions should be directed to the responsible official noted below.

Notice of Re-opened Written Public Comment Period and Public Hearing

 

The City of Sumas hereby gives notice that the Sumas City Council has re-opened the public comment period regarding a pending application for a zoning conditional use permit and a shoreline substantial development permit. The applicant is Lakeport Reach LLC, which proposes to construct a concrete products manufacturing facility. The project includes the filling of approximately 0.8 acres of Category III wetlands and compensatory mitigation. The facility is proposed to be constructed on an industrial site located at 3867 Kneuman Road within the NE ¼ of the SW ¼ of Section 34, Township 41 North, Range 04 East of W.M. within Sumas WA. The subject site is identified under the following County Assessor’s tax parcel number: 410434 244230. 

The Sumas City Council has extended the time period within which written comments may be submitted. Written comments regarding the proposal must be received by the City at the address below by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020. 

The Sumas City Council will re-open the public hearing regarding this proposal on February 10, 2020 at Sumas City Hall beginning at 7:00 p.m. Additional written or oral testimony may be provided at that time.
