NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Lynden Planning Commission will reopen the public hearing regarding an amendment to the RB Development / Heritage Park Planned Residential Development.

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 801 Aaron Drive, Lynden

LOT 4, RB DEVELOPMENT, DIV. NO.1, A PLANNED RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT, ACCORDING TO THE MAP THEREOF, RECORDED IN VOLUME 19 OF PLATS, PAGE 21, A.F. NO. 950412119, RECORDS OF WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON. ALL SITUATE IN WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON.

The purpose of this open record hearing is for the Planning Commission to consider potential conditions of approval. 

A public hearing with the Lynden Planning Commission has been tentatively scheduled for February 27, 2020. Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness. Any persons wishing to comment on the application or proposal may do by submitting their written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden 98264, by February 26, 2020, or by attending the public hearing to be held at 7:30 P.M., February 27, 2020, at the City of Lynden City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street.

Request for Qualifications (RFQ)

Consultant Engineering Services for:

Lynden Fire Station Renovation

City Project No. 2020-08

 

The City of Lynden Public Works Department is accepting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from professional architect/engineering firms, licensed under the laws of the State of Washington, to design a renovation of the Lynden Fire Station located at 215 4th Street, Lynden. Qualified firms must have experience preparing municipal bid documents (plans, specifications, and cost estimates) and preference will be given to firms with design experience with commercial building additions that include seismic retrofitting.

Sealed (SOQs) must be submitted no later than 2:00 p.m. Thursday March 4, 2020 to the City of Lynden Public Works Department, 300 4th Street Lynden, WA 98264. Late or faxed submittals will not be accepted.

The City of Lynden reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and waive any irregularities and/or informalities. DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on January 28, 2020 the City of Lynden received a SEPA Checklist from Dave Timmer, City Planner for the City of Lynden, regarding the non-project action described below:

Description of Proposal: This is a proposed update to LMC 19.26 Medical Overlay to recognize evolving patterns of development by the medical industry. In this case, the City is updating the minimum size of an allowed medical services parcel from 8 acres to 5 acres. This will increase the number of locations within the City where this overlay can be activated.

After reviewing the environmental checklist and other information on file with the agency, the City of Lynden has determined that this proposal will not have a probable significant adverse impact on the environment should standard conditions be met. Copies of the DNS are available from the City of Lynden, 300 4th St., WA. The public is invited to comment on this DNS by submitting written comments to Heidi Gudde, Planning Director, no later than February 26, 2020, at 300 4th Street, Lynden, WA 98264.

SEPA Determination of Nonsignificance

 

The City of Sumas hereby gives notice of a pending application for a shoreline substantial development permit. The applicant is the City Public Works Department, which proposes to construct an approximately 3,000 square foot splash park at an upland location within the existing Sumas City Park. The proposed site is located at 135 Third Street within the NE ¼ of the SE ¼ of Section 34, Township 41 North, Range 04 East of W.M. within Sumas WA. The public comment period for this application is from February 12 through March 13, 2020. Written comments may be submitted during that period to Sumas City Hall at the address shown below. The complete application is available for review at Sumas City Hall during normal business hours.

The City expects to issue a Determination of Nonsignificance (DNS) for the proposal. The application is being handled pursuant to the optional DNS process authorized in section 197-11-355 WAC, so comments about the environmental impacts of the proposal should be submitted within the above described comment period. This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal. The proposal may include mitigation measures under applicable codes, and the project review process may incorporate or require mitigation measures regardless of whether an EIS is prepared. A copy of the subsequent threshold determination for the proposal may be obtained upon request.
