Request for Proposal

 

The City of Lynden is accepting bids for the lease of approximately 33 acres of agricultural land located at 8727 Benson Road.

Interested parties may submit bids for all or portions of the acreage available. 

The land is currently being leased for various agricultural growing operations.

The length of term for leasing the property will be for a maximum period of 5 years.

Starting date for the lease will be March 1, 2020.

Bids must be submitted to the City of Lynden-Parks Department, 8779 Bender Road, Lynden, Washington 98264 no later than Feb. 21,2020 at 5:00 P.M.

LEGAL NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR AREZONE 

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on December 17, 2019, the City of Lynden received an application from AVT Consulting, LLC, Agent for Mannahouse Church, regarding the property described below:

LOT 1, AS DELINEATED ON CITY BIBLE CHURCH LOT LINE ADJUSTMENT, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF, RECORDED AUGUST 29, 2019 UNDER AUDITOR’S FILE NUMBER 2019-0803655, RECORDS OF WHATCOM COUNTY, WASHINGTON.

COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS:  1990 Main Street, Lynden

requesting to rezone approximately 21.83 acres from Single Family Residential (RS-100) to Residential Mixed Density (RMD) and Multi-Family (RM-3) at the above noted property.  The application was determined to be complete on January 22, 2020, and the notice of completeness was postmarked on that date.

As required by code, a public hearing is required for this application, however, a date has not yet been scheduled.  Be advised that once a hearing date has been e stablished all property owners within 300-feet will be notified via certified mail which will outline the dates of the public comment period prior to the hearing.

Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness.  Any persons wishing to review the applications, associated environmental documents or to receive future notices may do so by visiting the City of Lynden Planning Department at 300 4th Street, Lynden.  Persons with questions regarding this proposal may contact Heidi Gudde at 360-354-5532.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE CITY OF LYNDEN’S WATER SYSTEM PLAN

 

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Lynden City Council has scheduled a public hearing date for the Water System Plan. The hearing will be held at 7:00 P.M., February 18, 2020 in the Lynden City Hall Annex, 205 4th Street.

At such hearing, the City Council will consider any and all comments and/or objections made or remand the matter back to the Public Works Director for further review. 

Any persons wishing to comment on the Water System Plan may do so by submitting their written comments to Steve Banham, Public Works Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden, by February 18, 2020, or by attending the public hearing. Mr. Banham can be reached by e-mail at banhams@lyndenwa.org or by phone at (360) 354-3446.
