WHATCOM — County Public Works has scheduled West Badger Road for striping on Tuesday, June 18, in the hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Motorists are asked to avoid that area on that date and try to use alternate routes, as long delays can be expected. Also, Public Works requests that any vehicles parked along West Badger or in the right-of-way be moved before the work  begins.
Information regarding the county’s striping policy is posted online at http://www.co.whatcom.wa.us/DocumentCenter/View/41228/Striping-Season-Common-Questions.
This work is dependent on good weather and is subject to change. Contact the Maintenance and Operations division at 360-778-6400 with any questions regarding this project.
• The county is also doing several small areas of paving starting in late June. These include repair of Birch Bay Drive storm damage, Truck Road flood damage, and railroad and bridge approaches. Traffic impacts will be mild. For details, go to www.whatcomcounty.us/3110/Small-Area-Paving.
• The state Department of Transportation advises of a weekend closure of the right lane of northbound Interstate 5 just south of State Route 542/Sunset Drive in Bellingham.  Closure will be from 4:30 p.m. Saturday, June 15, to 11 a.m. Sunday, June 16. Workers will replace worn concrete panels.
