Virginia Edin, age 76, of Everson, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, surrounded by her beloved family. She was always on the go, helped organize family gatherings and reunions. Virginia loved to stay in touch with her family and friends.
Virginia was born in Holland, Michigan, on Oct. 6, 1943, to parents Tom and Wilhelmina (Vandenberg) Smith. She graduated from Holland High School in 1961, then trained for a career in bookkeeping.
In 1965 Virginia and two friends moved out to Whatcom County. She met a handsome young man named Rodney Edin at the Hilltop Restaurant. They were married on April 11, 1969.
Virginia was a bookkeeper for many local companies. She enjoyed playing games with the grandkids, was known for growing fantastic tomatoes, and loved to go camping and fishing.
Virginia is survived by her husband of 51 years, Rodney Edin; son Eric (Rejeana) Edin and daughter Mandy (Mike) Hadeen; grandchildren Kyle, Kaitlyn and Ryan. She will be greatly missed by sister Eleanor Pressnell of Grand Rapids, Michigan, brother Wes Smith of Zeeland, Michigan, and sister-in-law Jean (Jack) Lochbaum of Centralia, Washington.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Minnie Smith, and brothers Tom Smith and Owen Smith.
A private family interment will take place in Nooksack Cemetery.
