Isaac ‘Ike’ Workentin, 8/6/1927 – 6/20/2021.
Ike, our dear father and devoted husband, reached out to hold the hands of his heavenly Father who gently guided him home on June 20, Father’s Day.
Ike was born in Russia on August 6, 1927.
When he was one year old, he and his family escaped to China after suffering religious persecution.
The family came to the United States in 1929. Ike worked as a farmer in addition to driving trucks.
He was married to Jacoba “Joey” DeYoung in Lynden, WA on October 15, 1947.
Ike and Joey, best friends, were married for 73 1/2 loving years.
He is survived by his beloved wife Joey; children, Karen Workentin of Brisbane, Australia, Bonnie and husband Ken Wemp of Ephrata, WA, Randy and wife Rhonda Workentin of Lynden, and Tami Workentin and husband Jim Pickering of Milwaukee, WI; brother, John and wife Ione Workentin of Moses Lake, WA; along with eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Preceding his death are his brothers, George, Pete, Jake and Henry.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 24 at 1 p.m. at Grace Baptist Fellowship, 338 N. Park St. Lynden. Reception to follow.
