Brian Keith Ellyson went home to Heaven, welcomed by his Savior, on Aug. 10, 2020, at 53 years of age.
Brian was born on Jan. 14, 1967 to Clifford and Barbara Ellyson. The family moved from California to Washington in 1977. Brian attended Lynden schools and enjoyed participating in Royal Rangers, playing football as a linebacker and offensive guard, and he earned a black belt in Karate. Brian graduated from Lynden High School in 1985 and also completed a culinary degree at Bellingham Technical College. Brian loved to cook and he went on to work as a chef at various restaurants. Brian completed the program at Seattle Metro Adult and Teen Challenge in Renton, and he went on to earn a Certificate of Ministry through the Assemblies of God and served on staff at Seattle Metro Adult and Teen Challenge as an education coordinator, chef and counselor. Most of all, Brian was extremely proud of all of his children, adored his grandchildren, and was a kind-hearted and gentle soul.
Brian was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Ellyson-Thompson.
He is survived by his parents, Clifford and Barbara Ellyson of Nooksack; siblings Debbie Cain (Denny), Dale Ellyson (Michelle), Jill Karber (Jeff); sons Brian II Ellyson (Nicole), Brad Ellyson (Bri); daughters Brenda Ellyson (Michael) and Briana Ellyson; six grandchildren Kristine, Ashlynn, Anmarie, William, Emily and Mya; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and nieces and nephews.
