Alice Bosscher, age 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, May 4, 2020. She will be remembered as a sweet lady, tough yet patient.
Alice was a child of Kurt and Bernice (Gunnick) Linde, born on Sept. 30, 1930, in Staphorst, the Netherlands. Alice would reminisce that when she was a little girl during World War II her family helped out Jewish refugees. It was during this time that her father died. Her widowed mother, Alice and her six siblings immigrated to Alberta, Canada, and then to New Westminster, British Columbia. Alice helped her mother by taking care of her younger siblings and cleaning houses.
Alice met Herman Bosscher at the church where they later were married on Nov. 1, 1953. They moved to Whatcom County and farmed for 35 years. Alice and Herman had nine children. Alice was a charter member of the American Reformed Church of Lynden.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband Herman in 2002, daughters Bernice Bosscher in 1988 and Hilda Bosscher in 1982, grandchildren Solin and Enzo Castro, sister Dena Linde, brothers Harm Linde and Klaas Linde, and her parents.
Alice is survived by children Ed (Dena) Bosscher, Dianne (Don) Coleman, Teresa (Rick) Dekker, Ruby (Dick) Bengen, Ken (Nancy) Bosscher, Ina (Gord) Tams and MaryJo (Alan) Huttema; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her siblings Rosalie Kobes, John Linde, Ina Louwerse and Mary Boeve; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family thanks the Christian Health Care team for exceptional care given to Mom during her stay.
There will be a private family graveside service in Monumenta Cemetery.
