LYNDEN — The long-running Whatcom County Farm Forestry Association Tree Sale happens again from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 16, in the Henry Jansen Agricultural Center of the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds.

The cost is $1 per each small tree start (no minimum quantity required). Selling out of species often happens quickly. 

Types are: Mugo Pine, Fraser Fir, Sitka Spruce, Deodar Cedar, Giant Sequoia, Western Hemlock, Noble Fir, Incense Cedar, Norway Spruce, Grand Fir, Ponderosa Pine, Western Red Cedar, Colorado Blue Spruce, Japanese Larch and Douglas Fir.

This sale has been going on since 1963. It’s also become an event linking at least three generations of families, said Lisa Tiemersma, who is the new director of the sale, with both her dad and kids still involved.
