Smiles, laughter, people gathering at Farmers Day Parade

Editor,

Community events don’t happen without community participation.

From sponsors, to vendors, to parade stagers, barricade watchers, folks entering units of every kind, and even the spectators, great events take great people, and once again, we had them show up on Farmers Day, and a memorable parade resulted.

Like always, the Chamber crew of Tammy and Melissa did outstandingly, especially with the help of our select group of volunteers. We had a touch of rust from not holding a Farmers Day for 777 days, but most folks didn’t even know it, and everyone we spoke with had just a fabulous time.

The smiles, laughter and people gathering never meant so much, and made it worth every penny and then some. Now we head out to help our friends down the street at the fair. Like us, a few cobwebs needs to be removed and many, many tasks need to get done for some more summer fun to happen come August.

Some of the fair folks helped us, now we help them. It’s community helping community.

That’s how these things work, and it’s a tradition we’re proud to be a part of.
