FERNDALE — A regional conference of the Whatcom Food Network will be from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, in the Pioneer Pavilion Community Center, 2007 Cherry St. Doors open at 8:50 a.m.

Learn about the rich history in food processing as well as what’s in the works to help local producers add value to their products and hold ground in the market. This year’s Fall Forum features presentations by Mauri Ingram of the Whatcom Community Foundation on the proposed Bellingham waterfront food campus as well as Dave Green from Skagit Valley Malting on the history of processing in the  region. A panel of representatives from the diverse array of local industries and perspectives will share current and future practices in local processing.
