LYNDEN — The Lynden Tribune is not associated with a bogus Lynden Business Recognition effort that attempts to sell a plaque recognizing the Tribune for “2019 Best of Lynden Awards in the category of Publishing.”

The scam showed up in emails last weekend. Similar versions of the scam have surfaced in past years.

“We are deeply disappointed that this out-of-area company has again chosen to target local businesses by falsely saying they are involved with the Best of Lynden contest. We are proud to co-sponsor the annual contest with the Lynden Chamber of Commerce and recognize outstanding local businesses in our special publication set to come out on Wednesday, Dec. 24,” said publisher Michael Lewis.

The Tribune’s 2019 Best of Lynden campaign recognizing local businesses and organizations is legitimate and not associated with Lynden Business Recognition.
