She has served many years as a homemaker; she has loved gardening; for several years she was a managing housekeeper at the Lynden Rest Home.

She is a member of Lynden Community Church (formerly First Baptist). She is a homemaker and enjoys painting, gardening, sewing, literary class, card groups, church committees and being a museum docent.
