Olson couple purchases Raspberry Ridge Golf Course

HINOTES CORNER — Raspberry Ridge Golf Course is nothing new for John and Leanne Olson.
The Central Road couple with two kids at Lynden High School has been leasing and running the golf course and business for the last nine years. On Feb. 17 they were able to fulfill the goal of buying the operation and land from Billy Robins. John actually started at Raspberry Ridge 18 years ago as the course superintendent.
Versacold trying for new Lynden warehouse

LYNDEN — A land sale is in the works, although not finalized, to allow for the construction of a new frozen foods warehouse in west Lynden in time for the local 2010 berry harvest.
The need of Versacold Cascade Inc. for a new building came up at the Jan. 19 Lynden City Council meeting. Then in the days following, the proposed location off West Main Street changed slightly in order to facilitate a “very tight” time schedule for the project to happen, said Dan Shuler, plant manager.
