LYNDEN -- One short plat was approved and two others gained one-year extensions in a quick 14-minute Lynden City Council meeting Monday.
Four lots are created by the Van Loo family at the end of Birch Street. It’s the culmination of arranging various improvements with neighbors along the length of the 24-foot-wide private street.
Single new lots are being created by Aaron Apps on East Grover Street and Lane Stremler on Line Road.
In other action:
• The Reichhardt & Ebe Engineering firm was selected to perform general professional engineering services for the city.
• Four firms were approved to be on-call consultants for peer review of critical-areas studies that are done in the course of development projects.
• Skagit State Bank continues to provide a line of credit to the city of Lynden for interim financing of projects. Effective May 13, the interest rate will drop from 3.95 percent to 2.9.
• Bids will be opened Thursday on replacing the 14th Street bridge, and bids will be solicited next week on rebuilding the 17th Street culvert, said Public Works Director Duane Huskey.
