Dick Ten Kley


  Dick Jacob Ten Kley passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2008.
  Dick was born in Perkins, Iowa, on May 25, 1915, to Gerrit and Cora (VanHofwegen) Ten Kley. He was married to Wilhelmina (Minnie) Veenhof on Feb. 24, 1939. They lived in Minnesota and Michigan before moving to Washington state in 1946.
  Dick is survived by his wife of 69 years; children Mary Ann (Lloyd) DeVries, Judy Howell, Ellen (Jerry) Matter, Gerald (Divina), Bonnie (Larry) Miller, Linda (Jack) Wiebusch and Don (Joan); 15 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; brothers Gerrit, Marvin and Clarence; and sister Carol VanMersbergen.
  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Adrian; sister Edith Wensink; granddaughters Joanne Howell and Lori (Howell) Silves and great-grandson Michael Busby.
  At his request, his body was donated to research. No services will be held.
  The family will host an open house memorial in his honor on Saturday, May 10, 2008, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the home of Jack and Linda Wiebusch, 4298 King Ave., Bellingham. For directions, call Ellen at 354-4524.
