LYNDEN — It’s widely known that Lynden Christian Schools’ Recycle Center collects an astonishing amount of recyclable materials year after year.
Events such as the national Recycle-Bowl toss a little competition into the mix.
For a period of four weeks (Oct. 15 to Nov. 9, 2012), LC’s Recycle Center, located at 306 Drayton St. across from the elementary school, collected more than a half a million pounds of materials for the contest. LC, clocking in at more than 1,100 students, took first place in the competition with 549 pounds per student, winning a $1,000 prize.
