CITY OF LYNDEN
LEGAL NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR A VARIANCE AND PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on April 22, 2014, the City of Lynden received an application from Dale Assink of Pine Creek Construction, regarding the property described below:
LOT 1 SCENIC ESTATES PHASE II AS PER THE MAP THEREOF RECORDED UNDER AUDITOR’S FILE NUMBER 2130604022. SITUATE IN WHATCOM COUNTY WASHINGTON.
COMMONLY DESCRIBED AS: 1896 Alex Drive, Lynden.
For a variance to allow an exception to the rear yard setback requirement as outlined in Section 19.15.060, of the Lynden Municipal Code. The application is requesting to vary the code to allow a raised deck within 22-feet from the required 30-feet rear yard setback. The application was determined to be complete on April 23, 2014, and the notice of completeness was post marked on that date.
A public hearing with the Lynden Board of Adjustment has been tentatively scheduled for May 21, 2014. Under Lynden Municipal Code 17.09.100, the final decision for this project must be made within 120 days from the date of the letter of completeness. Any persons wishing to comment on the application or the proposal may do so by submitting their written comments to Amy Harksell, Planning Director, 300 4th Street, Lynden, by May 21, 2014, or by attending the public hearing on May 21, 2014, at 7:00 P.M. at the Lynden City Hall Annex located at 205 4th Street.
